The Range. The Caucasus from Sea to Sea. Photo Album Presentation
28 November, 14.00 – 15.00
Moscow, Central House of Artists,  Krimskiy val, 10

The Range. The Caucasus from Sea to Sea is an unprecedented artistic project by Anton Lange in partnership with the Northern Caucasus Resorts JSC. It is a result of a trailblazing  journey along the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range undertaken by the author of the legendary project Russia through a Train Window and his photo team.

The photographs selected for the album give a lyrical interpretation of the virgin nature of the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range as well as its peoples' historical roots and ways of life. The conducted shooting process was unprecedented in terms of scale and organisational complexity. In search of miracles and lost worlds, Anton Lange and his team set out on a breathtaking, ravishing, and most unpredictable journey.

The 18-month shooting process in the highest mountains of Europe required about 15 expeditions, which immersed its participants in the world of magic beauty, harsh challenges of high altitudes, and the atmosphere of permanent discovery. This remarkable journey is illustrated by 400 photographs, which have been included in the album along with an array of personal essays and stories behind the creation of certain images.

The presentation event will include an exciting first-hand account of the album creation and the large-scale shooting process, as well as a documentary on the lost worlds of the Caucasus and a signing session.
